VisiCard Privacy Policy

1. Business Card Data (Stored Locally)

VisiCard stores data you provide or capture on this device:

• Business card details (names, companies, phones, emails, addresses, and related fields)
• Photos of business cards saved by the app
• Tags, notes, and favorite status

This content is kept in the app’s local database and files. We do not operate a VisiCard account system, and we do not upload your card content to our own servers.

2. How Local Data Is Used

On-device data is used only to:

• Show and manage your card collection
• Support search, filters, tags, and favorites
• Enable actions you start (call, SMS, email, share)
• Create or restore a JSON backup you choose to export or import

We do not sell your business card data.

3. Camera, Photos, and On-Device OCR

VisiCard may use:

• Camera permission to scan business cards
• The system photo picker to import images from your gallery (no broad gallery permission required)
• Google ML Kit Text Recognition to extract text on your device

Card images and OCR results are processed locally for scanning. ML Kit may download recognition model files from Google when first needed. We do not send your card photos or extracted contact fields to our own backend.

4. Diagnostic and Analytics Data (Third Parties)

VisiCard includes Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. When a network connection is available, these services may collect and transmit technical information such as:

• App version, device model, OS version, and similar diagnostics
• Anonymous usage events (for example, screen views or feature usage)
• Crash reports and related stack traces

We design the app so business card content (names, phones, emails, notes, and card images) is not intentionally included in Analytics or Crashlytics events. Crash reports may still include technical details needed to diagnose failures.

Google’s handling of this data is also governed by Google’s privacy policies for Firebase.

5. Sharing You Initiate

If you use share, call, SMS, email, Rate Us, or open an exported file in another app, the information you choose to send is handled by those apps or services under their own terms. VisiCard only starts those actions at your request.

6. Storage, Backups, and Deletion

• Business card data is stored locally on your device
• Android system backup is disabled for VisiCard
• From Settings you can export or import a JSON backup of card text and tags; exports are plaintext and do not include card images
• Security of exported files depends on where you save them
• You can delete individual cards or use Settings → Clear All Data to remove stored cards (tags you created may remain until you manage or remove them separately)

7. Your Choices

You can:

• View and edit stored cards in the app
• Export or import JSON backups
• Delete cards or clear card data from Settings
• Revoke camera permission in system settings
• Limit network access with device controls (diagnostic features may then be unavailable)

8. Children's Privacy

VisiCard is intended for professional and adult use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit business card information from children. If a child uses the app, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (described above) may still collect diagnostic or usage data from the device. If you believe a child has provided card data in the app, delete that data on the device and contact us via the Play Store listing.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates appear in the app with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
